From well to power plant, for uninterrupted energy.
Geothermal fluid, with its high temperature, dissolved gases and mineral load, stresses every piece of equipment from the well to the plant. Calcite and silica scaling reduce cross-sections, CO₂ and H₂S corrosion attacks pipes and well completions, and heat transfer drops in exchangers. The result is unplanned downtime, cleaning costs and lost production. With the BiyoGeo series developed for geothermal power plants, wells, reinjection lines and district heating systems, Biyopol Kimya aims to control scaling and corrosion at the source.

- Calcite scaling: CO₂ breakout with pressure drop causes calcite to precipitate in downhole and surface equipment; cross-sections narrow and flow drops.
- Silica scaling: As the fluid cools, silica saturation is exceeded; hard, difficult-to-remove layers form in reinjection lines and exchangers.
- CO₂ and H₂S corrosion: Acid gases cause uniform and pitting corrosion on carbon steel, shortening the life of well completions and pipelines.
- Efficiency loss in heat exchangers: Even a thin scale layer significantly reduces heat transfer, causing capacity loss in district heating circuits.
- Unplanned downtime and cleaning cost: Mechanical and acid cleaning mean both cost and lost production; chemical prevention is more economical.
The Biyopol approach
Temperature, pH, dissolved gas and mineral content are assessed to determine inhibitor type and dose.
Product, dosing point and dose are verified first at pilot scale, then at the wellhead against measurable criteria.
The correct injection point is recommended according to the pressure/temperature zone where scaling begins.
Performance is tracked with coupons, flow and differential pressure; the dose is updated when needed.

Frequently asked questions
Where should the scale inhibitor be injected?
For calcite, upstream of the point where gas breakout begins, usually by deep downhole injection; for silica, in the reinjection line before the fluid cools.
Can a corrosion inhibitor be used together with a scale inhibitor?
Yes, they are used together in programmes whose compatibility has been confirmed; product selection is based on the fluid analysis.
How is performance measured?
Corrosion coupons, flow and differential pressure tracking, exchanger outlet temperatures and the change in cleaning intervals are the main indicators.
What packaging do you supply?
Depending on the product, drums and IBCs are available.
